Fire Alarm Systems (FAS)

Main characteristics

A fire alarm system (FAS) generally consists of several interconnected elements:

• A fire alarm control panel that collects and analyses information sent by the detectors and call points.
• Manual call points installed at strategic locations, allowing occupants to manually report a fire.
• Audible and visual alarm devices (sirens, strobes) to immediately alert the whole building.

Depending on the size of the site, the level of risk and the layout of the premises, the FAS can be conventional or addressable, programmed to respond to different scenarios, and expandable as needed.
